I'm married to a wonderful man who is an EMT, fire fighter, police dispatcher, justice of the peace, and pretty much anything else you need. One child, a boy named Josh who looks like his father, but acts like his mom.Including the fact he likes to pretend he is a DJ, and has been beat boxing since he was 18 months old.1 dog. I used to be a cat person, but after my cat passed (she was 23 yearsold) we got a dog. Honestly I love my dog. I think of her as a second child.I like to read, watch tv, surf the internet, long walks on the beach... Of course I love movies. But my tastes are very wide. I love Pride and Prejudice but also LOVE Super Troopers...but hate horror movies. Little known facts: I'm allergic to peanuts, used to be in 4-H, adore my xbox 360 and I am SO happy to be on The Coast! Thank you for working with me weekdays from 10 am-3 pm!
Donna Summer Disco Queen passed away today. I loved the movie Thank God It's Friday. If you havn't seen it you must. It is like the disco Blues Brothers. The music is amazing and it showcases the 70's disco era perfectly! Plus it freatures the Commadores, a VERY young Jeff Goldbloom and a lovely Donna Summer. Good bye Donna thank you for reminding people to turn on the radio.
I said our trip was amazing and it was but.... did you know Disney has its own ambulance?! We know this because my husband got to ride in it. He had woken up ar 3am covered in hives. Thinking it would help he took a bunch of allergy meds and hoped in the shower. Tip number 1 if you have hives DO NOT TAKE A WARM OR HOT SHOWER, only makes it worse. At 4 am I heard him and got up. By that time he was a strawberry. A call to the front desk and within 5 minutes we had the manager, head of mousekeeping, and 4 emts. At 4:05 am... They let him walk to the ambulance which is owned BY Disney. And NO there are no hidden mickeys or characters in the ambulance hubby says. He went off to the local hospital while Josh and I stayed in bed.
Josh and I got up, got dressed, had breakfast all while Brian was at the ER. Now my husband is an AMAZING man, I have always known this, BUT this day proved it. He was released at 8am and back at the hotel by 8:30 to change and hop on a bus to Epcot. Think about how you get when you take benadyol, then imagine if you can having the MAX amount not just from over the counter but also by IV. I would be in bed for a week, but not my Hubs! We spent 9 hours walking around Epcot. Yes he was tired and NO he would not ride in a wheelchair even though he still had his ER bracelets on. In fact at lunch the manager of the place we were eatting came over to ask if he needed medical attention! But no, NOTHING was going to stop my husband. He got a great nights sleep that night and the next day we were at the next park by 9 am.
Moral of the story is 1- stay on Disney property. They will pay for your ambulance ride and renburse you for the taxi ride back! 2- Disney has the most awsome customer service ever! Our room had been tripple cleaned, stripped and double rinsed, and they called the room every day to check on him during our stay! 3- My husband will NOT let ANYTHING and I do mean ANYTHING keep him from ADR at Biergarden.
Last week was the BEST week of my life. Yes I am sure. We went to Disney World!!!! We were there for the One More Disney Day, where the magic kingdom was open for 24 hours. 11 and a half hours was all we could handle in one day. But what a day it was! I <3 Disney World! Here is me, my boy and hubs, OH and stitch!
Whitney by Heather Bishop,posted Feb 13 2012 8:56AM
When I think of Whitney I always think about this song. Not only did it inspire me but she was at the best point in her life. A number 1 movie and soundtrack. Plus happy and expecting her first and only child. Thank you Whitney you will be missed!
My son has a double ear infection, which also includes a popped eardrum. The poor kid was stuck inside all weekend. So he was checking things out on a kid safe site and found this video.... Remember I told you about the popped ear drum? Because of it everything he played I heard....from 2 rooms away and he thought THIS was the funniest thing ever so he played it about 80,000 times. I share with you my weekend and I challenge you NOT to sing along. Oh and it WILL get stuck in your head.....

THANK YOU!
Ah December! Holiday movie time. One of my favorites is Love Actually. In fact I have been watching it while on the treadmill this week. On a side note, I am looking for great holiday movies to watch while on the treadmill so email me yours to Heather@Coast931.com
Black Friday is coming. Some people do not understand how I love it so. The crowds, the early hours, the deals. I LOVE IT! The best way to describe it is if your into hunting season or the first game of your favorite sport for the season. It's filled with hope and promise. I know I sound nuts.... BUT one year I got $500 worth of stuff for $150 AND got ALL of my holiday shopping done in 1 day. *stocking stuffers excluded
1-Pregame. Don't walk in like its a Sunday morning. Your in the Superbowl baby. Make a list or have an idea WHAT you are looking for. Check the ads.
2-Be flexable. One year my son wanted a DSI but I found a portable dvd player (also on his list) for $35. Guess what he got. Make sure you have an idea of a number of different options for each person.
3-Be realistic. You see those deals for tvs for more then 50% off. Unless you are willing to camp out over night your NOT getting them.
4-Team Work. If you have a bunch of people to shop with awsome, BUT do NOT shop togeather. Spread out. While 1 is in electronics, 1 be in toys. Texting will be your best friend. PLUS bring 2 cars. 1 park close to the store then night before and the other in the back when you get there the next morning.
5-Breakfast IS the most important meal of the day. I have seen many a great shopper end early do to hunger. Grab an egg mcmuffin and caffine before heading out.
6-Sleep. I KNOW it sounds hard to go to bed at 5 or 6pm the night before, but if your well rested you'll be in a better mood and your gonna need it!
7-Be Kind. I love this 1. I can not tell you how many times it has helped me. The employees are having the roughest day of the year bekind to them. Also while you in line (and chances are YOU WILL BE) chat with your fellow shoppers. They may have heard or seen something you haven't. Last year I was going to head to a different store untill someone told me that the store was already out of what I was going for. Saved me an hour!
8-Think Local! Yes every box store is having a huge doorbuster sale, but chances are good your local stores are too. Alot of people think Walmart, Outlets, Target on Black Friday, but also think of your LOCAL places that is where your going to find the truley unique gifts.
9-Don't Freak Out. We have ALL seen the tapes of people crushing each other for sales, or bustting down doors. People it's NOT worth hurting others for. Will your kid hate you if he doesn't get the new hot toy he wanted? Ok maybe for a day or 2 but is it worth ruining someones life over? No
10- HAVE FUN.... Again you think I am crazy. I get that ALOT. BUT Black Friday fills a primal need to hunt, ok instead of deer it's dvds but still. And if you don't get it done in 1 day that's ok, you still have more then a few days left.

Happy 40th! by Heather Bishop,posted Sep 30 2011 1:42PM
I hope to be as amazing and gorgous at 40. Happy Birthday to the happiest place on earth. Happy Birthday Disney World.
There are large numbers of us who are obsessed with Disney World. I say us because I have become one of these people. We went last year and honestly had a horrible couple of days. My son was sick and had to go to Arnald Plamer Childrens Hospital in the middle of our trip. And yet we still had an amazing time. It is the one place on earth my husband and I feel relaxed. The count down is on till we go again on a redo trip in Feb!
Till then here is a VERY cool video.
A few weeks ago my son lost a tooth in the middle of the night and put it under his pillow. The tooth fairy was not aware the tooth was out so she did not come. He woke up hoping for a dollar only to find she had not come. I explained to him that first off he did not up the tiny tooth in his special tooth box that sits on his desk. Secondly he had not informed us about the tooth. He asked why it mattered that we knew..... After a second i explained that every tooth requires a work order. The tooth fairy never got the work order!
So last night he comes in to the livingroom and says "we need a work order!" He had lost another tooth! We went up to his room and put the tooth in its special box. Then Josh did something unexpected. He got out 35 cents and put it ON the box. Why? To quote my son "she gives me and all the kids around the world money, maybe she might want some for herself"...... OMG couldn't you just eat him up with a spoon?!?!?! Love him!
I will never forget. 9/11/01 was one of the worst and best days of my life. Before you send me hate mail let me tell you why.
My husband and I had been going through 5 years of fertility treatments and in Aug of 2001 found out that we were finaly going to be parents. I was warned that the baby had planted low and there was a very good chance I would lose it. Our emotions were already on a rollercoaster. Then late on Sept 10 I experenced massive bleeding. We called the doctor and was told that we had most likely lost our child and that I needed to bee seen first thing in the morning. No sleep was had in our house, just crying and praying.
September 11 2001 at 6 am we went to the doctor. I was rushed in for an ultrasound. Our eyes were both swollen from all of the crying, we could barley see the monitor. The nurse started the ultrasound then suddenly stopped and ran from the room. Her and the doctor walked in. She started again and then pointed to the screen. Both of them started smiling and laughing! My husband and I were dumbfounded. They had never seen it before, a true miracle. The embryo had unplanted and moved to the very top and replanted. It was a miracle. A 1 in 100000000 chance. We were told that we were truley blessed and I should rest. NO STRESS! I was still concidered a high risk pregnancy. NO STRESS. I will never forget them telling me to go home, put my feet up, watch tv and rest.
We got in the car on cloud 9. I had NEVER been that happy in my life. Then we turned on the car and with it the world came tumbling down. At that point my boss at the time was on the air with the news that the first plane had hit. We rushed home not knowing what was happening. As soon as we were in the house the tv was turned on and within minutes the second tower was hit. Joy to depression in 3.2 seconds. We had friends in NYC. I got on the phone to call my mother inlaw with the good and the bad news. All of us watched in shock and disbelief.
My husband and his friends are all firefighters and police officers. I felt so deeply for the NYC crews and thier families.
Its now 10 years later. My son now 9 is happy and healthy. Am I more aware now that not everyone loves America, oh yes. I will never forget all of those lost on that horrific day, but I will also never forget the miracle I was lucky to have been blessed with that day either.
The 4th grade! My little man is a 4th grader..... how is that possible?! I'm not old enough to have a 4th grader! Ok well I am, but still! He wanted to wear orange shorts and a tshirt with a car on it. I wanted him to wear something NICE. We compromisedon this.
I came across the most romantic video ever! Imagine your man surprising you with your dream wedding. Sure this chick wanted a simple wedding but still, she had NO CLUE. She thought she was going to a retirement party! My husband can't even surpriseme with dinner!
