So, how does one go from playing the viola in the Portland Junior Symphony and touring the city performing at schools as a 6th grader to playing some of the best songs on the radio? Well, I don’t believe we have enough time here but, suffice it to say, too many years of classical music early on will make a guy yearn for other sounds! Of course, plenty happened in between.
After spending most of my life here in Maine I moved to the Southwest. And as spectacular as the weather and scenery were, I knew this was home and was happy to return. And even happier after landing a job on Maine’s Coast where I met my wife playing a silly little Valentine’s Day game on the morning show. It’s true, Amy won me on the radio!
We have a 9-year old daughter, Sally. Like her dad, she has a great sense of humor:) Unlike her dad, she can dance and loves to perform in The Nutcracker with the Maine State Ballet! We live in Brunswick where we get to enjoy some of life’s simple pleasures: a bike ride to the Gelato Fiasco for a summer treat or, in the winter, snowshoeing to the duck pond on the trails behind our house.
So, life has come full circle. Now classical music is again a big part of my life. But this time I get to really enjoy it as I watch Sally dance. And she gets to enjoy the music I play…on the radio!
