Rihanna to receive first AMA Icon Award

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Rihanna already knows she’ll take home a trophy from the American Music Awards.

The AMAs are giving her the Icon Award to honor her influence over pop music on a global level.

It’s the first time that award has been given.

The AMAs air Sunday night on ABC.
