San Fran becomes Gotham City for boy’s ‘Batman’ wish

A 5-year-old boy will turn into a crime fighting “Batkid” on Friday with the help of thousands of strangers and the Bay Area Make A Wish Foundation.

Miles told the foundation his wish was to follow in the footsteps of crime-fighting superhero Batman. San Francisco will transform into a real-life Gotham City for a series of run-ins with famous Batman villains, including the Penguin and the Riddler.

Miles’ day will end at City Hall where the mayor and police chief will present him with a key to the city and thousands of onlookers will cheer him on.

The Make A Wish Foundation has set up an online RSVP system to help plan for a large crowd of supporters and set up a special Twitter hashtag, #SFBatkid.
