Frustrated? Site helps you ‘drunk dial’ Congress

DRUNK DIAL: A new website is making it easy to take out your frustrations on Congress. Photo: clipart.com

Furloughed federal worker? Frustrated that our national parks are shut down? Or maybe just a little angry after happy hour? A new website is connecting the masses with the lawmakers behind the government shutdown and encouraging them to take out their frustrations in a booze-fueled rant.

DrunkDialCongress.org encourages users who are mad at Congress to “Have a drink and tell them.”

Looking for a little inspiration? DrunkDialCongress.org also offers “talking points” – gems such as “You jerks are costing the country $12 million bucks an hour” – and drink recipes including “The Bad Representative” and “The Sleepy Senator.”

Users enter their phone number and the service calls back from a toll-free number with a quick recording explaining the mission of the website. It then connects to a Representative’s office, apparently chosen at random.
