I pretty much have the exact same resolutions each New Year – which means I don’t keep them very well.
Lose weight
Save money
Stop saying “yes” to everyone and everything
Figure out a plan for the next “phase” or path in my life
Travel more
I’m doing pretty well on the travel part—last year took me to a cool yoga retreat in Mexico, two jaunts to New York City, Bar Harbor, and I closed out the year in Reykjavik, Iceland. I impulsively agreed to go to Ecuador with my good friend Jim next month, so 2017 travel has started off promising.
Save money? Well, with my travel desires, I am not overly confident that I will save money, but at least my bills are paid and I have a few bucks ready for my retirement.
So the losing weight thing is where I really want to make changes- lasting changes. It takes a long time to realize things about yourself—for me, I know that I “all in” “or all out”—So when I am eating healthy and working out, I am doing it – full on—and when I go off track, I do it with equal gusto.
I am hopeful right now that my desire to see the scale number drop and my clothes fit better will outweigh my binge desires. The good news is since I gasped when I stepped on the scale January 2, I am, down five pounds. I’m not comfortable writing my original weight–the highest ever in my life–but lets say between 150-200. Not only have I been eating better—portions and food choices—but I am back to hot yoga, along with my 2-3 times weekly spin classes. I am feeling pretty motivated…for now.
I want to be accountable – I plan to update my journey – good, bad, ugly, whatever… feel free to reach out for support. Everyone needs a support system in whatever do!
Happy New Year!!
