I can’t believe it was 11 years ago today that I pulled into the Portland Radio Group parking lot to begin working at WMGX. I was brought in for four weeks to fill in with Tim Wright while the two female hosts happened to both be on medical leave.
About 3 weeks in, I remember saying I never wanted to leave. I didn’t have to when one of the females illness prevented her from coming back to the show.
So 11 years in, I am working with my third partner, Blake, who two years ago came on board with a wealth of energy, ideas, and enthusiasm. I became re-energized to do my absolute best-on and off–the show.
I feel lucky to get up at 3am (mostly true!), come to a job that allows for such creativity, fun, and a lot of laughter! I feel lucky to get to be part of this amazing charitable community–lending a hand-or voice–to do my part in being part of great events like “Tri For A Cure.”
And mostly, I know that there very few opportunities like the one I have each day to connect with people, maybe touch them in a good way when they’ve had a tough morning. To this day, when I meet someone new and they say they listen to our show or love a bit we did, I am realize just how blessed I am.
Thank you allowing me into your home, car, and hearts for 11 years.
Much Love,
Eva
