1 person dies after small plane crashes into ocean in Bristol

One of two people who were on board a plane that crashed into the ocean in Bristol on Thursday died in the crash.

Photo from a witness shows the plane upside down in the ocean by Fort William Henry, which is near Pemaquid Beach.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the Diamond DA-20 two-seat aircraft went down around 1:40 p.m.

The condition of the other person on board was not immediately known.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
