The Woodland Pulp paper mill in Baileyville has released the identity of a second worker who died from gas exposure.

On Tuesday, the mill confirmed that Allen Hornberger died in the hospital as a result of the leak that happened in January.

Kasie Malcolm, a 20-year-old UMaine chemical engineering student, died shortly after the incident.

Both were exposed to highly toxic hydrogen sulfide during a leak in the plant’s bleach facility which is under investigation by OSHA and the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board.

Last week, the board said that eight other workers at the mill were injured.
