Fire Destroys Camper, Threatens Auto Dealership in Farmington

An auto dealership in Farmington mostly escaped damage from a camper fire early Thursday morning.

Crews were sent to Ripley & Fletcher Plus on Wilton Road on a report of a trailer on fire and found a camper under heavy flames and threatening the main building.

Firefighters say they were able to contain the fire to the camper with only minor heat damage to the building.

They say one person living in the trailer was able to escape without injury and is now being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Wilton Fire assisted Farmington crews in putting out the fire.
