Fire tears through historic farmhouse in Dixfield, killing dog

A dog was killed in a fire at a farmhouse in Dixfield on Sunday.

According to the Sun Journal, firefighters responded to the 100-year-old farmhouse on Severy Hill Road around 11 a.m. Sunday.

No one was inside the house or the shed, which were both destroyed by the flames.

Investigators say they won’t be able to determine the cause of the fire due to the extent of the damage.
