Gov. Janet Mills could announce a decision about a Senate run in November.
Maine’s Democratic governor told reporters Wednesday she’s “seriously considering” a run to challenge incumbent Republican Sen. Susan Collins next year.
She made the comments during the unveiling of a state shooting range in Fryeburg.
Gov. Mills has previously indicated she had no plans to run.
She said Wednesday she was in no rush to make a decision.
Other Democrats who have thrown their hat in the ring to replace Sen. Collins include political newcomer and oysterman Graham Platner, as well as Jordan Wood of Bristol, who worked in D.C. for about a decade.
