Guilford man faces additional murder charge in connection with deadly assault

A Guilford man faces an additional murder charge after one man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in an assault.

Maine State Police say Brent Doore, 63, died while being taken to the hospital after a wellbeing check at a home on Pine Street in Guilford Sunday evening.

The woman, Stephanie Doore, 59, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The two were found by police after a call for a wellbeing check.

Ryan Carleton, 49, was arraigned Tuesday and now faces charges of murder and aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.

Stephanie Doore’s body was brought to the medical examiner to determine a cause of death.
