An iconic fast-food restaurant in Brunswick is up for sale as the Fishman Realty Group is listing the Fat Boy Drive-In at $875,000.
The drive-in survived the pandemic in 2020 under a new owner and has been around since the mid-50s. Fat Boy is known for their burgers, homemade onion rings and frappes shakes.
It’s not clear why the drive-in is on the market. The listing from Fishman Realty says the new owner could continue operating the restaurant as is or bring a new vision and transformation to the property. It’s described as a turnkey business with all Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) included with the sale.
The listing calls the Fat Boy Drive-In a local spot in the heart of Brunswick as well as a tourist attraction during the summer months.
It’s advertised as having easy access to I-295 and being close to Cook’s Corner shopping area, which has a million square-feet of retail shopping. including Walmart, Lowe’s, Hannaford, Planet Fitness, Staples and numerous other restaurants.
The Fat Boy property is 900 square feet. The restaurant’s last posting on Facebook is from September 21, which announced its unexpected annual closure for the season with an expectation of reopening in 2025.
