Lewiston man faces trafficking charge after thousands of dollars in cocaine seized from hotel room

Drug agents seized $100,000 worth of cocaine before charging a Lewiston man with drug trafficking.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says authorities conducted a compliance check Tuesday on 36-year-old Steven Braggs, who was on supervised release after being sentenced for a firearm charge.

Braggs was arrested at a hotel in Lewiston, where he was found to be in possession of 100 grams of cocaine.

Agents later searched his home and found more cocaine, trafficking materials and more than $25,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

Braggs was charged with drug trafficking and taken to Androscoggin County Jail where he’s being held without bail.
