A teenager charged in the killing of a Maine paddleboarder has been found competent to stand trial.
Deven Young was 17 years old when he was charged with murder for the death of Sunshine Stewart, who died while paddleboarding on Crawford Pond in Union in July.
According to reporting by the Midcoast Villager, a judge ruled Thursday that Young is competent to stand trial.
Prosecutors are seeking to have Young, who’s now 18, tried as an adult.
