Police say a man led them on a high-speed chase in Clinton before crashing in a construction zone on Tuesday.

Police tried to pull over the car being driven 20-year-old Jamez Leggett after officers spotted an occupant inside that matched a description of one of two missing teens.

Police say Leggett sped off, driving erratically and reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour before crashing in a construction zone in Benton.

Leggett was later taken into custody in Winslow and charged with multiple crimes, including eluding an officer and driving to endanger.

He was taken to Kennebec County Jail but has since been released.
