A 40-year-old Maine man is behind bars after deputies say he committed several violations while crashing into a utility pole in Waterboro Thursday afternoon.
York County deputies say Raymond Miller was driving an SUV at a high rate of speed on Roberts Ridge Road when he lost control and crashed into a utility pole before coming to a stop in some bushes.
The utility pole snapped in half and blocked the road, which was closed for several hours while crews cleared up downed power lines.
Deputies say they suspended Miller’s license, and he was subsequently arrested for Operating as a Habitual Offender, Driving to Endanger, and Violation of Conditions of Release.
