A New Hampshire man faces numerous charges after police say he led them on a high-speed chase while intoxicated through several towns in Maine and New Hampshire Wednesday.

The chase started when York Police say they tried to pull over 22-year-old Dashawn White for impaired driving.

Police say he led them through six towns – York, South Berwick, and Eliot in Maine, and Rollinsford, Dover, and Somersworth in New Hampshire – and crossed the border twice.

Several departments attempted to deploy tire deflation devices. Somersworth police deflated one of the car’s tires before York Police used a PIT maneuver to stop his vehicle.

They say White then fled on foot, but was quickly caught by an officer and a K-9

White was taken to Wentworth Douglass Hospital for evaluation and then taken into  custody by New Hampshire State Police.

Two other passengers in White’s vehicle were released without charges.

In Maine, White faces charges of felony eluding and three counts of reckless conduct as well as misdemeanor charges for criminal speed, operating without a license, and refusing to submit to arrest or detention.

New Hampshire police have charged White with being a habitual offender and three counts of reckless conduct. He is also facing misdemeanor charges of aggravated DUI, driving after revocation, resisting arrest, disobeying an officer and two counts of false imprisonment.
