Man faces attempted murder charge after Lewiston shooting that left victim with serious injuries

A 20-year-old was taken into custody after a shooting that left one person injured in Lewiston.

Police responded to shots fired Monday evening near Bartlett and Walnut Streets to find a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police say the shooting was not random, with witnesses telling officers a fight broke out before the shots were fired.

The victim, who was not been identified, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

20-year-old Ethan Parilla of Lewiston was arrested and charged with attempted murder and assault.
