Man struck by SUV in Portland hospitalized with serious injuries

A pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries as a result of a crash in Portland on Friday.

The crash was reported around 12:20 Friday afternoon near 33 India Street.

A 61-year-old man from Portland was hit by an SUV being driven by a 69-year-old woman from Falmouth.

Police said the SUV stopped at Fore and India Streets before the driver took a left turn on to India Street, crashing into the man.

He was brought to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Portland Police.
