A Penobscot County man pleaded not guilty Friday after his toddler died of hypothermia.

Maine State Police say a 10-month investigation led to the arrest of Shane McLaughlin, 37, Wednesday for the death of Eleanora Ray McLaughlin, who was 13 months old.

The Medical Examiner said the child died of hypothermia when she was found unresponsive at a home in Milford in late 2025.

McLaughlin pleaded not guilty to a count of felony manslaughter and three counts of child endangerment.
