A 21-year-old Lisbon man is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash on Wednesday afternoon in Lisbon Falls.

Lisbon Police say the man lost control of the motorcycle and slid across the roadway on Route 196 at the corner by School Street and crashed head-on with a car.

Officers say the man was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston and then flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland in critical condition.

The driver of the car, 37-year-old Ross Shaler of Winthrop, was not injured. Police say he has been cooperative with investigators.

The crash remains under investigation. Accident reconstruction specialists from the Lewiston Police Department and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office were called to assist at the scene.

Police say they’re not releasing the name of the motorcycle rider at this time. The crash was reported at about 3:15 pm Wednesday.
