Motorcyclist Dead in I-95 Crash in Kennebec County

One person is dead from a crash involving a malfunctioning motorcycle on I-95 in Kennebec County Saturday evening.

Maine State Police say two motorcycles traveling together had just passed a car in Sidney when the brakes of one seized from a mechanical defect, ejecting 61-year-old Adam Robinson of Sangerville.

Officers say Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene. At the same time, the driver of the other motorcycle, 28-year-old Jayson Lancaster of Carmel, who could not avoid the crash, was also ejected and received minor injuries.

Lancaster was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash took place northbound on I-95 at mile marker 120 in Sidney at 5:36 pm Saturday.
