Motorcyclist Dead in Somerset County Crash

A motorcyclist is dead from a crash involving a Jeep in Norridgewock Monday morning.

Somerset County deputies say 34-year-ol Sarah Dakin failed to yield when pulling onto Bridge Street in Norridgewock and hit a motorcycle driven by 37-year-old Joshua Poissonnier.

Investigators say Poissonnier was ejected onto the roadway and later died at the hospital. He was not wearing a helmet.

Deputies say Dakin was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

They say intoxication does not appear to be be a factor in the crash, and they believe driver inattention and failure to yield were the cause of the crash

Deputies say any charges will be determined by prosecutors

The crash happened at about 9:30 am Monday.
