A former Kennebec County employee and “Naked and Afraid” contestant has filed a lawsuit against the county following allegations that the former Emergency Management Agency (EMA) director, Arthur True, engaged in stalking and privacy breaches. The plaintiff, a Falmouth woman, claims that True used his position to download and possess uncensored, nude images of her that were taken during her time on the reality television show. The lawsuit further alleges that when she reported the behavior, she faced a hostile work environment and retaliation from other county employees.

The legal action follows criminal charges against True, who was accused in early 2024 of stalking and unauthorized computer invasion. The civil suit seeks damages for the emotional distress and professional fallout caused by the breach of privacy. It highlights systemic concerns regarding how the county handled the initial reports and the subsequent treatment of the whistleblower, who asserts her career was derailed after speaking out against the director’s misconduct.
