New polling from CNN shows the race for U.S. Senate in Maine remains close.
In two months, Republican Sen. Susan Collins will face Democratic challenger Troy Jackson in a closely watched race that could shift the balance of power in the chamber.
Recent polling conducted by research firm SRSS from Aug. 31 through Sept. 6 showed Jackson leading Collins 48%-45%, a difference that falls within the poll’s 3.7 percent margin of error.
Jackson has had to focus on establishing name recognition quickly after he replaced Graham Platner as the party’s nominee in July following a sexual assault allegation, which Platner denies.
