One man dead after crash in front of Scarborough hotel

The driver of a car that crashed on Route 1 in Scarborough died in the hospital.

Scarborough police say a car being driven by 40-year-old Mudimbiyi Kalombo crashed in front of the Comfort Inn just after 2:30 Monday morning.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Kalombo was found unresponsive in his car when first responders arrived.

Kalombo died after being taken to Maine Medical Center. Police have not released any information about the cause of the crash.

A family member told the paper they were awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
