A 12-year-old Skowhegan girl has been found safe after she was reported missing.

Police say 12-year-old Summer Steward had last been seen at her family’s home on Sunday.

In an update on Wednesday, they said information from the community led them to a person of interest in Westbrook, where Steward was found in a shopping mall parking lot.

She was taken into protective custody and reunited with her family.
