Bangor police are searching for a suspect who they say stabbed a man in a wheelchair and then fled the scene in a car.

Police responded to Union Street just before 6 p.m. Wednesday night and found a 43-year-old man who was bleeding profusely after being stabbed in the arm. Officers applied a tourniquet, and EMS took him to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition on Thursday.

Police say the victim was arguing with a woman on the sidewalk when someone got out of a car and began arguing with the victim. The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim and then jumped back in the vehicle and took off.

Police say the suspect’s vehicle is a red Chevy sedan with a rear spoiler, sunroof, and mismatched rims.

They hope someone spots the vehicle and gives them a call so they can track the suspect down and take him into custody.
