The Portland Fire Department is asking for public help with extremely tight street conditions after recent snow storms.

The department says crews have encountered numerous impassable streets in in the city because of improperly parked vehicles.

They’re asking residents and visitors to consider the size of their fire engines, which are trying to get to emergencies without delay.

There have been major parking difficulties on narrow Portlands streets, as the city has received 29 inches of snow so far in February.

Meanwhile, CBS 13 News reports the city it doesn’t always have enough available tow trucks available to remove cars left on the street during parking bans.

Also, Portland Public Works crews are working to remove snow from streets this week. They will start dumping snow on the median of Franklin Street because the city’s other two snow-dump sites are already filling up.
