Portland Police Investigating Sunday Morning Stabbing

Police are investigating a stabbing Sunday morning in Portland.

Officers say the stabbing took place outside 45 Portland Street, which is Dyer’s Variety Store, at around 6:30 a.m. after they say they found a 45-year-old Portland man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Police say the victim was taken to Maine Medical Center where he was treated and later released.

Police say they have interviewed multiple witnesses and have developed a person of interest.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police say no further details will be released at this time.
