Police say a man who struck a boy on a bicycle in Portland was talking on his cell phone at the time.

The crash happened Monday night at the intersection of Deering Ave. and Brighton Ave., where an 11-year-old boy was riding his bicycle.

Police say the driver, Beder Hussein, 19, of Portland, struck the boy, leaving him with a minor leg injury that was treated at the scene.

Hussein had a green traffic signal before he struck the boy.

He was charged with driving to endanger and operating after suspension.
