Two Teens Arrested, Charged with Felonies After Lisbon Falls Lockdown

UPDATE:

Two teenagers face felony charges after Police say they assaulted another minor in Lisbon Falls, before starting a fire in a wooded area.

Lisbon Police say they issued a shelter-in-place order late Wednesday afternoon while they were assisted by five other police agencies in a search for the suspects.

Both suspects were eventually tracked down and taken to the state youth detention center in South Portland.

The suspects are ages 17 and 15, and both face felony arson charges, while one also faces assault and felony guns charges.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Team, Brunswick Police Department K-9 Team, Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office, Topsham Police Department, Maine State Police, and Androscoggin County Emergency Management Agency assisted in the search for the suspects.

The shelter-in-place order was issued just after 4 pm Wednesday and was lifted just before 6 pm.

The Topsham Police Department were stationed at the MTM Community Center to provide security while parents arrived to pick up children. The Parks and Recreation Director issued notifications to families advising them of the lockdown and releasing children to parents from the after-school program.

The suspect information is Below. Because they are underage, their names are not being released.

15yr old Juvenile Suspect #1 has been charged with:
• Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention
• Arson (Class A Felony)
• Probation Hold

17yr old Juvenile Suspect #2 has been charged with:
• Arson (Class A Felony)
• Assault
• Criminal Threatening with a Dangerous Weapon (Felony)
• Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention

UPDATE: Police say a shelter-in-place has been lifted after a person of interest was taken into custody.

They say the other suspect fled the area.

No other details were immediately available as of Wednesday evening.

Police in Lisbon Falls have issued a shelter-in-place order as they search for an armed suspect.

Police are searching the area of Huston Park after an incident at the corner of Berry Avenue and Campus Street.

The suspect is a thin white male wearing red sneakers, black pants and a white, red and black sweatshirt.

Residents are being asked to stay indoors and nearby students have been released to their families.
