Skier Dead From Crash on Black Mountain in New Hampshire

A 39-year-old man is dead from a skiing crash at the Black Mountain Ski Area in New Hampshire late Sunday afternoon.

Jackson Police say they were called in at 5:51 pm after the ski patrol was sent to the “Upper Maple Slalom” trail to help a patient in an accident near the summit.

Officers say Eric Page was found unresponsive near the edge of the snow line of the trail and lifesaving measure were taken as he was hauled to the base area.

Police report no one saw the crash and it was first reported by a passing  skier.

EMS personnel performed more life saving measures which were not successful and Page was pronounced dead.

Police say Page lived in Bartlett, New Hampshire. He was taken to a funeral service in North Conway.

The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Mike Mosher at 603-383-9292.

Black Mountain General Manager Erik Mogensen offered a statement about the death:

“The entire Black Mountain community is deeply saddened by this tragic accident,” said Mogensen. “I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the individual’s friends and family, the Black Mountain community, and all who have been affected by this loss.”

Black Mountain is about 70 miles north and west of Portland.
