(WGAN) A pair of teenagers in Maine are facing charges in connection with a string of vehicle break-ins, and police say that at least one of those crimes may have been inspired by social media videos.

Fairfield police arrested 19-year-old Janathian Viles of Waterville on Tuesday.

According to the Portland Press Herald, it follows the arrest of a 15-year-old suspect in January.

Police say Viles told investigators that he and the 15-year-old broke into at least one of the cars based on videos they saw online about how to steal certain Kia and Hyundai models.

Viral videos on TikTok and other social media platforms show viewers how to take advantage of a security issue with the key fobs used for the vehicles.
