Strong winds knocked out power to nearly 25,000 CMP customers at one point on Tuesday.

Those winds also brought a tree down in Cumberland, where Long Meadow Road was closed for most of the day.

In Sebago, the fire department said Kimball Corner Road was down to one lane due to a downed tree, while parts of Robinson and Swamp Roads were closed as well.

CMP said extra crews are on hand to respond to outages, but they can’t use bucket trucks if winds exceed 30 mph.

The utility was still reporting upwards of 13,000 outages across their coverage area as of 7 p.m. Tuesday.
