A 24-year-old Thomaston woman is accused of trying to run over Border Patrol agents who were investigating a crash in the town of Washington.

The Midcoast Villager reports police claim Olivia Wilkins left the scene and was then arrested after a chase when she drove off the roadway.

She faces charges in federal court in Portland after being indicted by a grand jury for assault and interfering with a Border Patrol agent.

The Villager reports the Border Patrol later claimed four occupants in a box truck involved in the crash were in the United States illegally.

Wilkins is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Portland on November 7.

The incident reportedly took place on August 25 on Route 17 in Washington when a box truck crashed.
