Three teenagers face charges after a 10-hour standoff in Auburn on Sunday.

Police say a 17-year-old was robbed of clothing, shoes, and personal belongings by people with a gun and a knife and chased out of his apartment at 133 Lake Street.

Officers arrived on the scene at about 4:40 am. They say they brought in a State Police tactical team and surrounding police agencies to help deal with the suspects, who were located on the second floor of the same building.

They say there was concern after the suspects were threatening violence and were believed to be armed.

Nine people aged 13 to 21 came out of the building after several hours.

Police say one 17-year-old male suspect, reportedly armed with a gun, remained barricaded inside and refused to cooperate with officers.
Auburn Detectives then got a search warrant, after which the Maine State Police Tactical Team attempted to enter the apartment. The say the suspect responded by jumping out of  a second-story window. He was quickly caught, which brought the nearly 10-hour incident to a peaceful end.
Three underage suspects, two 17-year-old boys and one 15-year-old boy, face a variety of charges listed below.
• Robbery (Class A)
• Theft (Class B)
• Criminal Threatening with a Dangerous Weapon (Class C)
• Assault (Class D)
• Creating a Police Stand Off (Class E)
Police say an investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
