Turner Man Arrested in Connection with Lewiston Shooting

A Turner man has been arrested in connection of a shooting in Lewiston.

According to Lewiston police, they responded to reports of a shooting Thursday afternoon at 235 Bartlett Street. No injuries were reported.

Police say 22-year-old Nikolas Rancourt was quickly arrested and a gun was recovered.

Rancourt is currently being held at the Androscoggin County Jail and was charged with reckless conduct with dangerous weapon.

The gunfire happened a few blocks away from a separate shooting on Tuesday near Jefferson Street.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public, and further details will be released as it becomes available.
