A woman was killed and three others were hurt when a wrong-way driver from Maine crashed in New York, police say.
It happened Monday near the town of Lewis in Essex County.
New York State Police say 37-year-old Brian O’Leary of East Millinocket was driving the wrong way on Interstate 87.
Police say they tried to stop O’Leary but he kept going and led them on a chase.
His vehicle reportedly hit a pickup truck head-on, killing one of the pickup’s passengers, 47-year-old Kathy Groshans of New York.
The driver of the pickup and two children who were in the vehicle were taken to the hospital.
According to CBS 13, they were listed in stable condition Wednesday morning.
The New York State Attorney General’s Office and state police are investigating the crash.
