York County Sheriff’s Office taking part in joint investigation with FBI in Waterboro

The York County Sheriff’s Office notified the public about an investigation involving the FBI in Waterboro on Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office said it was conducting “investigative activity” at the 700 block of Main Street and that there was no threat to public safety.

Residents and businesses in the area were told to expect increased police presence but to continue normal daily activities.

More details about the investigation are expected, but the sheriff’s office said there are no plans to release details this week.
