Thousand Dollar Minute – Official Rules


Here are the official rules for Coast 93.1’s Thousand Dollar Minute

Starting Monday, May 18th through Friday June 12th, 2015 … Listen weekdays to the Coast Morning Show at approximately 6:50 am to play “The Thousand Dollar Minute” from Ocean Communities Federal Credit Union. The first caller at 207-792-6278 gets to play. To play, the caller will have 60 seconds to answer 10 pop culture/trivia questions created by Blake & Eva. Time starts as the first question is read. The “correct” answer is based on our research and at our discretion. Caller’s first answer counts; if correct or incorrect, we move to the next question. Caller may “pass” on a question and come back to it after cycling through all 10 questions, time permitting.

If the caller gets all 10 questions correct in 60 seconds or under, they get $1000 from Ocean Communities Federal Credit Union. If the caller get less than 10 questions correct, they get $10 per correct answer in a gift card from OCFCU. The contest will end on Friday, June 12th OR until all awarded prizes total over $3500, whichever comes first.

Entrants and winners are chosen in the sole discretion of Coast 93.1. Coast 93.1 will make reasonable efforts to award the prize within 30 days, but no sooner than one week of winning the prize. Coast 93.1’s sole responsibility is to award the prize; therefore, Coast 93.1 will have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the prize winner does not claim the prize. Winners will be responsible for all state and federal taxes. Prizes are not transferrable or redeemable for cash. No purchase necessary.

Coast 93.1 contests are open to all eligible Maine and New Hampshire residents 18 or over and those who have not won any prize valued at or over, or cumulative prizes valued at or over $600 on Coast 93.1 in the past 6 months. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named. Employees of Coast 93.1 at the Portland Radio Group, Saga Communications of New England, LLC, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the Coast 93.1 main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
