Congratulations to Courtney Bass, one of our 20 Outstanding Women of 2025!
Listen to Courtney’s full interview with Blake and Kelly below:
Courtney is the Portland Home Team Supervisor at Milestone Recovery, where she leads efforts to assist unsheltered individuals, particularly those living in encampments on the outskirts of town. Her team provides emergency assistance, including propane transportation, food, and water, ensuring that basic needs are met. She also responds to calls from the police, clients, and concerned citizens about individuals in crisis, dispatching her team to assess and address their needs.
In addition to her work at Milestone Recovery, Courtney is the director of The Light Within, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting unsheltered individuals who are victims of domestic violence or struggling with substance abuse. This past December, she organized a GoFundMe campaign, Putting the Magic into Christmas, which provided 55 Christmas stockings to the shelter, 55 to unhoused women and 55 to unhoused men, filled with essential items for those experiencing homelessness.
A true advocate, Courtney’s compassion and dedication make her a vital force in the community, ensuring that those who are often overlooked receive the care and support they deserve.
