Danielle, her husband, and her nominator survived the 2023 Lewiston shooting at Schemengees, where they were playing in a cornhole tournament.
In the days following the tragedy, Danielle created a Facebook Messenger group so survivors could support one another. She regularly checked in when difficult news surfaced, making sure everyone was coping. Danielle also organized events where survivors could spend time together and heal, including outings to Sea Dogs and Mariners games, paint nights, and other gatherings.
She serves on the executive board of the Maineiacs Cornhole Family Fund, which was created after the tragedy to create scholarships in memory of fellow Maineiac Cornhole players that were lost that night and to help support other cornhole families need. Danielle has raised money to help purchase a new trailer for TB EVENTS, a traveling cornhole company out of Lewiston. She also supports many other cornhole fundraising tournaments throughout her community, most recently the Mental Edge Tournament and a tournament to support the Lewiston High School Senior class.
