Laura took over as the executive director of the Kennebunk-Kennebunkport-Arundel Chamber of Commerce in 2015. From the very beginning it was her mission to form a charitable arm or extension of the chamber to help those in the community who need it most. Armed with the know-how, the passion and a small team of dedicated volunteers, Laura launched the Little Pantry, a 24/7 no-barriers resource for anyone to utilize day or night who might just need help stretching their food supplies until payday, or who needs diapers, toiletries or other supplies.
The Three Towns One Community Fund also runs a school supply drive annually, provides holiday help, and gives community support. Right now, the pantry is refilled multiple times per day, and because of Laura, the community is fighting food insecurity and promoting dignity in those who may need a hand up, not a handout. There are dozens of other ways that Laura serves her community, anchors her family, and bolsters her entire community. She volunteers for Lucky Pup Rescue and sits on the board of other non-profits. She also supports young entrepreneurs, new businesses and struggling businesses through her guidance, monthly events, and trainings throughout the year.
