Lauren Glennon is a cofounder of Chickadeeds, a nonprofit in Maine. Chickadeeds reimagines volunteerism by creating inclusive, family-friendly service opportunities that connect people of all ages with local nonprofits. Chickadeeds focuses on accessibility, collaboration, and belonging, ensuring service opportunities are free and welcoming while addressing real community needs.
Under Lauren’s shared leadership, Chickadeeds has mobilized thousands of volunteers and delivered meaningful impact across southern Maine. The 2024 to 2025 Monthly Event Impact Report shows 527 volunteers contributing 1,054 service hours to 15 nonprofit partners through monthly service events, supported by community hosts, sponsors, and event partners.
A hallmark of Lauren and Jennie’s work is the Chickadeeds High School Leaders Program, which provides teens with structured, multi-year leadership and volunteer opportunities. During the 2024 to 2025 year, 13 students and their families contributed 450 service hours across 31 nonprofits while building leadership skills.
By strengthening nonprofits, engaging families, and empowering young leaders, Lauren and Jennie have built a collaborative model of service that creates lasting impact across Maine communities.
