For decades, Linda Kelly has been a guiding light for grieving children and families. As the longtime Program Director at the Center for Grieving Children, she played a pivotal role in shaping programs that provide solace and resilience to those experiencing profound loss. Even in retirement, she remains dedicated to training the volunteer facilitators who are the heart of the Center’s services. Her expertise in grief support has influenced approximately 1,000 facilitators, helping them bring comfort to children, families, schools, and communities.
Linda’s impact extends far beyond Maine. She was instrumental in helping establish grief centers nationwide and played a key role in forming America’s Camp, a program for children who lost loved ones on 9/11. Her teachings have had a profound ripple effect. Former participants return as facilitators, and volunteers share how her training has deepened their connections with others. Through her warmth and compassion, Linda has touched thousands of lives, creating a legacy of healing and kindness that continues to spread throughout Maine and beyond.
