When Michelle graduated college, she joined John F. Murphy Homes and rolled in with a mission – to open a school for children with autism. They predicted she would fail. That it would be hard to find kids to participate in such a program.
By the end of year one they had a wait list. Today, the Margaret Murphy Center for Children serves children with Autism and other underlying developmental delays and learning disabilities around the entire state of Maine. Providing each child with an individual education and the goal that each and every child has the supports they need to be successful. She has spearheaded different schools and programs around the state and has changed the lives of thousands of children and their families.
