In 2014, Nancy was diagnosed with breast cancer and endured surgeries, chemotherapy, hair loss, and the emotional and financial strain that followed. During that difficult time, Nancy and her family were uplifted by the generosity of others. Rather than allowing the experience to define her by hardship, she turned it into a mission to give back.

From that journey, Nancy founded Hoops for Hope, an organization created to “pay it forward” to families facing the challenges of cancer. Since its founding, Hoops for Hope has raised more than $300,000 to provide direct support such as medical and utility payments, gas and gift cards, wigs, and other essentials that ease both financial and emotional burdens.

In addition to leading the organization and its annual community event, Nancy works as a literacy interventionist and is a devoted mother. She balances these roles with grace, humility, and a genuine commitment to lifting others up.
